欧内斯特•赫尔姆斯 (Ernest Holmes)

欧内斯特•赫尔姆斯 (1880-1960) 年轻时是一个自学成才的哲学博士，后来认识了一群在作品中发展出“应用形而上学”形式的“美国新思想之父”：爱默生、奎姆比 (Quimby)、玛丽•贝克•艾迪 (Mary Baker Eddy) 和托马斯•特洛沃德 (Thomas Troward）。

他在 25 岁时于加州洛杉矶创办了宗教或精神科学研究院，也就是通过其思想和情感创立的人类科学。

他的畅销书《心灵科学的基本思想》(The Science of Mind) 于 1940 年出版至今已再版超过 25 次，成为美国心理和精神运动的现代名普。
在《心灵科学的基本思想》一书中，赫尔姆斯“从科学的角度”阐述思想创意的原理，在商界大受欢迎。
